Festive Fragrances To Keep Your House Smelling Fresh Over The Holidays

We are now in the run up to Christmas, with less than two months left to go. For most, Christmas is the busiest time of year for household foot traffic with more friends and family popping in or staying over than usual, which ultimately puts more strain on your hectic festive schedule. Whilst cleaning your house you can fill it with traditional Yuletide aromas to delight the senses of all your guests. Here are some fragrant homemade cleaning recipes using natural household products and various essential oils to keep you feeling in the holiday spirit!

Santa's Simple Homemade Christmas Glass Cleaner:

- 1 Pint Water
- 2 Tablespoons White Distilled Vinegar
- 8 Drops Orange Essential Oil
- 3 Drops Ginger Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Cinnamon Essentail Oil
- 1 Drop Nutmeg Essential Oil

Mix all of the ingredients together in a spray bottle and apply to your windows and mirrors, wiping it off with a cotton cloth or some crumpled newspaper. Sit back, enjoy the view (and the smell).
Now you have clean windows it is time to freshen up your carpets! One of the loveliest smells associated with Christmas is a real Christmas tree, and who doesn't love the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree? No-one right? You can enhance the smell and spread it around the house, in rooms with no tree, with this carpet deodoriser.

Festive Forest Fresh Carpet Deodoriser:

- 16 oz / 450 g Bicarbonate of Soda
- 5 Drops Fir Needle Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Spruce Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Juniper Essential Oil

Mix the oils in a small bottle by rolling it in your hands then add to the bicarbonate of soda ensuring that all of the oil has been thoroughly mixed in. You can store the deodoriser in an airtight container. For use: sprinkle deodoriser onto your carpet (try using any empty container with holes poked in to the lid), allow the deodoriser to sit for approximately 15 minutes and then vacuum as normal.

Happy Holidays Homemade Wood Polish and Dusting Spray:

- 180 ml Olive Oil
- 60 ml White Distilled Vinegar
- 10 Drops Orange Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Myrrh Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Frankincense Essential Oil
- 5 Drops Cedarwood Essential Oil

Mix all of the ingredients together in a spray bottle and shake vigorously. For use: spray on to furniture and buff clean with a cotton cloth.
